Our comprehensive library of 200+ audio prayer times makes it easy to get down to pray, because we don't just write about prayer, we pray with you, so you can experience Bible-based prayer times, together.
An ever-growing library, with an average of 5 new tracks a month.
Find rest in the busyness of the day as you stop and spend a while with Jesus. Learn and experience at least seven different forms of prayer, to keep your prayer times enlivened.
Structured prayer times: the guided audio prayer times do the hard work of choosing which Bible verses to use each day in prayer. They are there for you even when you are having one of those days when it's difficult to get going with prayer... We all have them!
Membership makes you part of an international community that is praying together as part of Discovering Prayer right across the globe.
If you're a Christian who wants to keep on track with a routine of prayer, you don't always have time to spend hours choosing Bible verses, and if you're a parent, the days of juggling tasks are here! That's why we'll show you, step by step, how to get into a routine of prayer... and that's what you'll get with Discovering Prayer.
If you're passionate about prayer, but going through a challenging time, then joining the Discovering Prayer community can be a real source of strength and encouragement. It's when things are difficult that we're most aware of our need to be close to Jesus. When it's difficult to pray, grab a coffee, press play and join in with Discovering Prayer at a time and place that's convenient for you.
If you're seeking God, or would describe yourself as spiritual but not religious, where do you go for spiritual sustenance? You want to explore, and have perhaps tried mindfulness, but are wondering if the ancient tradition of Christian meditation offers some riches. Discovering Prayer is a non-judgemental space for you to explore Christian meditation. All our guided audio prayer times draw from the ancient text of the Bible. Our aim is to help you draw closer to God.
If you're a church leader, you'll want to keep up to date with new ways to engage people in prayer. How can you support them at times when you are not there? As a Discovering Prayer member, you'll be part of a praying community... receiving new insights in how to teach people to pray... and of course to experience the sustenance of being part of an online praying community.
Is Discovering Prayer Christian?
Yep! Discovering Prayer is very grateful to Bishop Colin, the former Bishop of Dorchester, for providing oversight during the creation of the organisation. Michelle Eyre, Discovering Prayer's founder, became a Christian at the age of 19 in an independent church in South London called Ichthus Christian Fellowship. Since then she has worshipped at a variety of churches and tried out being a nun. Michelle is now a member of St Aldates, Oxford, which is part of the Church of England.
Can I take part in Discovering Prayer if I'm not a Christian?
Yes, you are very welcome. Discovering Prayer is for everyone. We use the Bible as the basis for prayer and meditation, and you're warmly welcome to be part.
How long will it take to get access to the library of audio tracks?
Access is provided straightaway.
Why are you charging for prayer?
We aren't charging for prayer, we're charging to cover the costs of running a complex website and professional recordings. We want to reach tens of thousands more people, to record the whole of St John's Gospel, and to be sustainable.
Is Discovering Prayer funding anyone to drive a fancy BMW?
Er no! Discovering Prayer is a registered charity. Our aim is to keep the cost to all members as low as possible. All our finances are overseen by a board of trustees as well as the Charity Commission. We're very grateful to religious communities and organisations who have enabled us to work towards becoming sustainable: the Community of Saint Mary the Virgin, Wantage, the Community of Saint John Baptist, Pershore, Nashdom and Elmore Trust, the Diocese of Oxford and others who have given confidentially. Without the support of members and these communities, Discovering Prayer would not exist.
Can I pay using my credit card or Paypal?
Yes! We take the security of our members very seriously. You can make a secure payment using either your credit card or Paypal. If you have any difficulties at all with the sign-in process, please contact emma@discoveringprayer.com and we'll gladly help.
I'd like to join, but can't afford it.
Please get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, there is a 30-day, no questions asked money-back guarantee.
"I am a wife, mum, priest and accountant. Discovering Prayer caught my imagination as a really good place to go to find new ways of praying. It was an opportunity for me to learn to pray in a different way while being accompanied by someone. You can read a book but to have someone talking it through is really helpful."
– Elizabeth Robertson
