Here’s a simple, step-by-step guide to help you get started, even if you're not very familiar with apps.
✅ Smartphone or dumbphone?!
Why is this important? Because only smartphones have the ability to download an app.
If you can read emails, install apps or browse the web on your phone, it’s a ‘smartphone’ - and you can download the Discovering Prayer app.
However, if your phone has a small screen and can only make calls and send text messages, I’m afraid you won’t be able to install the app on it.
✅ iOS or Android?
Why is this important? Because you need to download the correct Discovering Prayer app for your phone.
Look at your phone’s brand or logo:
- If your phone is from Apple (e.g., iPhone), it uses iOS.
- If it's from Samsung, Google, or another brand, it likely uses Android.
Still unsure? Here’s a quick clue: If you have an apple symbol on the back of your phone, it’s an iPhone and runs on iOS. If you don’t, it will be Android.
✅ Find the Discovering Prayer app
If you’re reading this on your phone you can just click the link below to go to the app store!
If you’re reading this on your computer and your phone is nearby, follow these steps to find the app:
- On iPhones, find the blue icon with an A in it to open the App Store. On Android, find the Google Play Store which is a coloured triangle.
- Open the store and use the search bar at the top of the screen to type "Discovering Prayer".
- Look for the app in the search results and tap on it.
✅ Install the app
First, make sure you’re connected to WiFi (to install quicker) or your phone network (may install more slowly).
- Tap the button to download the app:
- On iPhone, tap Get (you may need to enter your Apple ID password or use Face/Touch ID).
- On Android, tap Install.
- Wait for the app to finish downloading (it may take a minute or two).
✅ Open the app
- Once installed, tap Open (or find the app icon on your home screen and tap it). It may take a minute to open as it fetches the prayers and images.
- Follow the instructions to sign in.
If the app won’t fully load, come back later to see if it’s fixed itself (It may stop if the internet connection isn’t strong).
